The Minister Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 Hi I've just migrated from 2008 to 2011. Trying to get my head around it! No progress without change!?? In 2008 I could apply a material to just 1 face by right clicking the material > apply material > holding down CTRL. I cant seem to do this in 2011? Any ideas? Thanks Quote
iskalipsi Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 Hello Minister, i can apply the material the way you said in 2010. I have no 2011 due to program requirements. Maybe some 2011 users can shed some light. Quote
Cad64 Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 Yeah, they really did a number on the materials browser in 2011. They jacked up the browser in Studio Max too. You can still apply a material to a single face, the procedure is just a little different. In order to apply a material to just one face, you must first hold down the Ctrl key, then click on your material, in the Materials Browser, and hold down your left mouse button. Now drag and drop on the face where you want the material applied. But the secret is to hold down the Ctrl key first. Quote
busseynova Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 Wow, that's convaluted. Thanks for the tip though. Quote
The Minister Posted September 30, 2010 Author Posted September 30, 2010 Thanks Cad64. Got it to work. 2011 doesn't seem to like picking in 3d solid/conceptual etc. My main problem is that I using a Mac (via VMFusion) and I have to press CTRL + ALT. Quote
sevdo2000 Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Or first select the single face (with filter or with hold ctrl), and double click on the matterial. Quote
