Setting a scale to a converted PDF to DXF

Recommended Posts

hello All,

I converted a PDF to DXF but I"m not able to set the proper scale in model or paper

space. The PDF file was a 1/4" = 1'. Thanks in advance.

Do you know the true length of at least one line in the drawing?

You do realize that in model space all objects should be drawn to their actual size and not scaled right?

Remember that in your layout, which gives you access to paper space, it is the viewport that the scale is applied to and not the layout itself. That way, when it comes time to plot, you do so at a scale of 1:1 (from your layout) and let AutoCAD take care of depicting the objects in your viewports at the proper scale.

Yes I do. The drawing was plotted at a 1/4" = 1' so I'm also able to open in PDF editor and check other dimensions.

Yes, when I do my drawings model space is set at 1:1, I scale and print in paper space.

When I go to my layout with this drawing and set the scale, I can see when I try to add dimensions it's wrong. For example, a doorway that I know is 36" reads 9".

Thanks for the quick reply,

So it sounds like the model space objects are one quarter of the size they should be right?

You could scale all the objects in model space.
