LauKwokFai Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 Dear all, I always received files from other companies, when I open the files, it says a text style "symbolx.shx" not found, then I cancalled it. when I get into the file, I do the following : Command: (tblnext "style" t) ((0 . "STYLE") (2 . "Standard") (70 . 0) (40 . 0.0) (41 . 1.0) (50 . 0.0) (71 . 0) (42 . 0.2) (3 . "txt") (4 . "")) Command: (tblnext "style") ((0 . "STYLE") (2 . "HZ") (70 . 0) (40 . 0.0) (41 . 0. (50 . 0.0) (71 . 0) (42 . 3.0) (3 . "simhei.ttf") (4 . "")) Command: (tblnext "style") ((0 . "STYLE") (2 . "") (70 . 1) (40 . 0.0) (41 . 1.0) (50 . 0.0) (71 . 0) (42 . 0.2) (3 . "symbolx.shx") (4 . "")) when it goes to the "symbolx.shx" there is no Style Name for it, can someone helps me how I can find it so that I can change the font. Thanks so much Quote
Tiger Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 Does it say that text style symbolx.shx is not found or that shape file symbolx.shx is not found? Shape file is not always a text style. Quote
LauKwokFai Posted October 6, 2010 Author Posted October 6, 2010 it is a Shape file !!!!! anything I can do about it ? Quote
Tiger Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 Shapefile could be referenced by a linetype for instance. Change all lines to Continous for instance. For instance. Quote
LauKwokFai Posted October 6, 2010 Author Posted October 6, 2010 (edited) thanks for the suggestion....I tried, nothing changed. Would that reference to other things ? or anyway I can find more information about this "symbolx.shx" ? I only know (tblnext "style"). I looked at another forum, someone suggested to edit the acadlt.fmp file in support folder, add a line "symbolx,hztxt"...but still didn't work on me. Edited October 7, 2010 by LauKwokFai Quote
LauKwokFai Posted October 7, 2010 Author Posted October 7, 2010 I tried again, I changed everything to "continuous" then purged, the symbolx.shx has gone. However, for the purpose of the drawing I cannot change all the lines into one particular line type, then I go back to the original drawing tried to search for the lines with "symbolx". I couldn't find this name in the linetype command, also find nothing with (ssget "x" (list '(6 . "symbolx"))) Quote
Tiger Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 I would guess that you got this drawing, or parts of it from another source. Whatever that source is, they should be able to supply you with the linetypes that are missing. Most likely the linetype in itself is not called symbolx, but the linetype referrs to a the symbolx.shx file. Quote
LauKwokFai Posted October 7, 2010 Author Posted October 7, 2010 I think you are right, there are 13 customized linetypes in the files, I have to change ALL those lines to continuous, purge all 13 linetypes before I can purge the "symbolx.shx", if I copy one of these lines from another file, this .shx file comes back. I am not familiar with .shx files, I can't understand why I can see the customized line type while the .shx files is missing. Quote
