Two questions. To what format do you want to export the screen, and why does the resolution have to be higher than the screen's? Exporting is kind of clunky for what you apparently want to do.

There are utilities to plot drawings to JPG and other formats, and you can set the resolution. There should even be supplied plotters for JPG and PNG.

alright at school my teacher is making us doing a road project and we have to create this kind of map on cad out of all the points ( with coordinates X Y Z ) a map like this one

tecnica_topografia-img8.jpg

since i work as rigger (computer graphic ) i wanna reacreate the same road and bump on autodesk maya ( the only 3D program i can use well ) and i need to import the project as texture s i can recreate the bump. i wish aan high resolution so i wont see the pixel when i will zoom in .

i know that s not the best way to create a 3D bump but i dont have time to learn another software

As a roughy press alt+PrtScrn then paste into paint, else use jpgout, for tiffs you need to play with your dpi you increase the dpi by increasing the plottable area use the length/dpi gives a number this is you sheet size do again for height. titleblock 801mm = 801*200/25.4 = 6307 pixels at 200dpi 31"*200 = 6200

Interesting, I thought the usual scheme was to pull images into AutoCAD for texture...

Here's one way to do it. Start your PLOT command. Select a plotter that will output a JPG; my system has one called "PublishToWeb JPG." Now it can get tricky: you have to balance your scale against your paper size to get the proper resolution. Drawings don't scale in pixels, so you'll probably have to go back and forth between the plot window and the preview to get something you can use. Once you have a good picture, print it to a file.
