Scoobydoo Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 (edited) I have come across a strange issue. While trying to help a co-worker with a plotting issue, I went to create a .pdf file of Sheet 2. When I preview the plot everything looks good but when I plot to a .pdf file and view the .pdf, some of the text is missing. I have attached three drawings. The main (plottable file) is called CROSSING POINT.DWG and it contains two XREF files, M-CROSSING POINT.DWG (model file) and TB-CROSSING POINT.DWG (titleblock file). I have attached the drawings and if you open up the CROSSING POINT.DWG file, on Sheet 2, I have clouded an area. Now all the design work is on M-CROSSING POINT.DWG file and the leaders and text are all on the same layer, but why would only the leaders appear but not the text? I suggested that our ICS Department update her AutoCAD Civil 3D (2011) with the latest updates/service packs because I can't think of anything else it would be that would cause this to happen. Has anybody come across this same situation?! Oh please email me at (removed email address per request) and I will send you the three files, apparently the files are too large to upload here (it is a compressed file that is just under 3mb) and is clean (no viruses, etc.) Moderator note: You can contact the author via private message Edited October 14, 2010 by rkmcswain removed email address per request Quote
nukecad Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Scooby, Not a good idea to put your e-mail address in open view like that, leaves you wide open to spammers. You might want to ask one of the mods to remove it. Quote

cadman99 Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Very possible that it is Mtext, which is considered a block level entity (not treated the same as a Text string). I do engraver files for our company tags (plastic lamacoids) and an Mtext item will not print. Exploding it into Text items usually works in this case. Mark Quote
Kapanther Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 What PDF driver are you using? Is the mtext annotative? Quote

Select custom settings and then the button "Custom settings" Change the font selection to "capture all" OK out, save pc3 file, OK out Jamie Quote
lfe011969 Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 I ran into this problem using the -PUBLISH command in AutoCAD 2009. However using the -PLOT command to plot individual sheets worked without a flaw. Of course then you're stuck with individual PDFs for each sheet so I ended up using a free program call PDFTK to merge the sheets together into 1 PDF. You can use the command line version of PDFTK in conjunction with a LISP program to accomplish this or you can just use the GUI version. Get the command-line version of PDFTK here. Get the Windows GUI version of PDFTK here. Quote
