Problem with background mask making white rectangle

Has anyone ever experienced a difficulty activating the background mask on text, leader, or dimension and it coming as only a white rectangular outline without any actually blocking mask? If so, how did you fix it? This is the first time I've come across the issue and cannot find any alteration in my creation and or practice of drafting in this file that varies from my usual methods. Please do help!

Check your FILLMODE variable, sounds like it's set to 0. Change it to 1 and REGEN your drawing.
