Driffield Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Hello I am looking to generate multiple blocks from a spreadsheet and import them into Autocad LT, once generated I can insert them by hand easily enough. Each block is to taken from a tree survey in an excel spreadsheet. Each block shows the stem diameter, crown spread at 4 compass points, and one or two other features. At the moment I have to draw these blocks by hand which takes a long time. Any help much appreciated. Thanks Quote
ReMark Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Have you considered the use of a dynamic block? Assuming you don't want to go that route how we you going to construct each block in the drawing? Were you going to use a macro or Diesel since lisp is not an option? Quote
Driffield Posted October 19, 2010 Author Posted October 19, 2010 Ive just been using the block editor. Quote
ReMark Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Your data sits in an Excel spreadsheet. The blocks you want to create will be constructed in AutoCAD. How were you going to meld the two? Maybe I'm missing something here. Quote
Driffield Posted October 20, 2010 Author Posted October 20, 2010 Thanks Yes, hence the question. Can I create the blocks elsewhere and import them in, or import the data to automatically generate blocks. Quote
BIGAL Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 It would be better to have the blocks already in your drawing its easy to purge them out. DWT Trying to remember if LT will run a script you can write it all in excell just save it as a txt file with .scr Quote
