Hi Guys, really hope someone can help me with this one.

We usually print using the 30" wide tracing paper(roll) so all our print jobs are per sheet, per layout tab. our purchasing dept by mistake ordered the 42" wide roll. we're on a really tight schedule so replacing the tracing papers will take time.

its such a pain cutting the sheet to size after printing and also a waste.

Question is, is there a way to print 2 layout tabs in a single plot job? so the 42" wide paper will have two 20"X30" sheets? maybe in trueview or something else.

I tried using PDF using the multiple sheet option but the drawings were not scaled, it only had the "fit to paper" option.

TIA

I did similar jobs with the PDF. First I printed the two drawings in PDF format, I used Acrobat (the full version) to bind them together in a single multipaged document, and finally I sent the PDF to the plotter with the option "2 pages /sheet"

Thanks for the reply,

We have a full version but its 6.0, does not have the print multiple sheets option. we downloaded the 9.0 version w/c has the multiple sheet option but only fit to paper. does the full version print the actual scale even on 2 sheets?

Choose the correct scale while printing to file from AutoCAD. After that, just plot without scaling.

I used Acrobat 7

Nice thanks for the info; as long as acrobat 7 and above professional editions give scaled outputs we'll purchase it online.

There is no scaled output option. You can define the paper size. While printing, you can choose to fit the drawing to printer's margins, or to print it as it is (no scaling). The same options you have in the Acrobat Reader, just with the Reader I can't plot to PDF two pages /sheet.

We just got a copy, but still a trial version. the booklet printing option also works, we just have to pair up our pdf files. output drawing is scaled, thank GOD!!!

but the printout is watermarked hehehe! maybe we'll get the activation codes tommorow
