sameekwt Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 hi can anybody give me the bolcks for autocad Quote
ReMark Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Yeah, blocks. There are probably tens of thousands of AutoCAD blocks available online. Could you narrow it down just a bit? What kinds of blocks are you looking for? What field do you work in? Are we talking about plain blocks, blocks with attributes or dynamic blocks? CADTutor is not a repository for blocks although from time to time members will post some in an attempt to help another member. You might try visiting the Cad Block Exchange Network. Quote
JPlanera Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Considering he is using architecture, i assume he wants "those" blocks Quote
Bill Tillman Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 SAMEEKWT...don't be offended. We're just having a laugh at your expense. Your question reminds me of the days when I used to work in IT and had to resolve probems for users who were much less computer literate than most people are today. One of my favorite old-time stories, besides the one about users confusing their CD-ROM for a cup holder, was when a user would loose a file. I would ask them where they put it and while pointing to their monitor they would say "IN THERE". I would ask more direct questions like which folder they saved it in and again their reply would be to point at their monitor and even louder say, "IN THERE!" Like REMARK said there are an unlimited number of AutoCAD blocks out there and users are creating ba-zillions more of them each and everyday. If you want to understand AutoCAD blocks, do a couple of Google or Yahoo searches on the subject or seardh this forum. If you narrow down your question to what kind of block you're looking for, like an ACAD block for bathrooms, or kitchens, or hex bolts, or landscape or pipe elbows, or electrical symbols, or.....like we said, there are no limit to the types of blocks. ReMark Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 But what type of architectural blocks? There are thousands of those too. Many can be found at the websites of manufacturing companies. Take for example "windows". Visit the websites of Pella, Anderson or Marvin and you'll find 2D blocks (plan, elevation and details) as well as 3D blocks. Quote

sameekwt Posted October 24, 2010 Author Posted October 24, 2010 HI i nee block for bathrooms, or kitchens main doors and for elevations etc Quote
ReMark Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Blocks for bathroom fixtures such as toilets, sinks, tubs and shower stalls can be found at the manufacturer's website or at the Cad Block Exchange Network. Ex. - American Standard. Blocks of doors (plan view and elevation) can be found at the website of the manufacturer as well. Ex. - Marvin Windows. These blocks will be very specific since they are supplied by the manufacturer. Do you understand what I have just said? Quote
ReMark Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Another source for blocks: http://www.cadcorner.ca/cadblocks/bathblocks.php http://www.draftsperson.net/index.php?title=Draftsperson.net:Free_AutoCAD_Blocks A good way to find free AutoCAD blocks is to do a search using the following.... "AutoCAD"+"blocks"+"free" (use for all types of blocks) or... "AutoCAD"+"blocks"+"windows" (use for specific type of block). You must use the quotation symbols and the plus signs exactly as they appear. Quote
ReMark Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Marvin windows and doors (2D and 3D blocks). Start here: http://www.marvin.com/?page=Resources_and_Technical_Information American Standard (kitchen and bathroom fixtures). Start here: http://www.americanstandard-us.com/resources/technicalfiles/default.aspx I think I have provided you with more than enough links to fulfill your needs. The rest is up to you. Good luck. Starkvinna Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 ReMark beat me to it. You can find a lot of blocks at: http://www.archblocks.com/free-autocad-blocks-library http://www.cad-architect.net/ (some are free, others cost) http://www.us.kohler.com/tech/cadsymbol/cadsymbol.jsp http://www.draftsperson.net/index.php?title=Category:Free_AutoCAD_Blocks www.cben.net Quote

I will look elsewhere for my blocks. Thanks for your help." Quote
ReMark Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 It means that since we did not "give" him the blocks he wanted he took his business somewhere else. It's that whole "demanding" thing that really irks me. Quote

It's that whole "demanding" thing that really irks me. Yeah, and God forbid we ask them a few questions to try and milk some information out of them in order to determine exactly what they need because then they get offended and storm off. We seem to be getting a lot of these types in here lately. "Gimmie, gimmie, gimmie, I need some more. Gimmie, gimmie, gimmie, don't ask what for." - Henry Rollins (Black Flag) Quote
Runnerguy Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Yeah, it's like the onus is on the replyers to figure out the intent. I'm active in some travel boards and there's too many people there who post "I'm going to Europe for two weeks, what should I see and do?". Gee, could you narrow it down a little bit? Do you like history or want to experience culture? Like the beach or the mountains? Like the city or the country? Want to see a small area intensly or want to see a little of a lot of places? I've written there it's like a person saying "Gee, I'm going to the library. What kind of book should I check out"? Let's see, what are your interests. You have fiction or you have non fiction,.......... Throw us a frikin' bone here! Doug Quote
