dedken Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 Greetings, I've created a couple of custom commands/shortcuts which I think my work colleagues might find useful (one is a button for View/3D Views/Plan View/Current UCS, plus another for View/3D Views/Plan View/World UCS. The other is a keyboard shortcut for Make Object's Layer Current) Is there a way of making them available to other user profiles (i.e. can I save them somehow to a USB or somesuch and reload onto another machine)? Or do I have to create them manually over and again for each person who's interested? I've consulted the AutoCAD help menu and not found what I'm after... Any ideas? Cheers. Quote
ReMark Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 Was the keyboard shortcut incorporated as part of the command alias file? Quote
dedken Posted September 18, 2008 Author Posted September 18, 2008 I wouldn't have a clue... I carried out the procedure for creating keyboard shortcuts as described in the AutoCAD Help files. Quote

Without knowing where the code is stored, it's impossible to tell you how to migrate it. If you created a macro in the menu file, then you need to figure out which menu file. The preferred method would have been to create your macros in a partial menu that can easily be copied and shared. If you created the macros in the main menu (acad.cui), then you can copy and share this entire menu, or just recreate the macros/buttons in the other menu. It's best to leave the stock menus alone than create your customization in your own menus though. Quote
dedken Posted September 18, 2008 Author Posted September 18, 2008 Having just checked, it would appear I made my customisations in the acad.cui. I guess I was probably getting a bit ahead of myself in terms of skill level otherwise I might have known to store them in a custom cui! Is it possible to copy them from acad cui? Quote
