djp6 Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Hi Can anyone tell me the keyboard short cuts to access layers. Is it possible to change layers using the keyboard or, for example, move a line form one layer to another without using the mouse to do it with the layer list drop down box or the properties manager layer list box. I’m looking for a keyboard shortcut or a command line command. I’ve looked up layers in help but can’t find anything about switching layers using keys. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers Dave Quote
ReMark Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Command line (not a shortcut) involves typing .-layer followed by typing "s" for Set then naming the layer. Using the Match Properties toolbutton is a lot quicker. I don't care how fast you can type. With 3 picks you're done: the button, the source and the destination object. If you use the command line version I hope your layer "names" are actually "numbers" instead to avoid a lot of typing. Quote
BIGAL Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Setting current layer, if you have the layers toolbar displayed the left icon in the middle of the 3 is "set current layer" you have to have a dwg object to do this though. A simple cheats way is to draw a few lines each on a different layer put these to the side so you can see them and then use as per first line later on delete if not required. We have this in our dwt. edwinprakoso Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 If you use ribbon interface, you can use ribbon shortcut. Press alt, then H (for home) then LA (for layer dropdown list). See the explanation here: http://cad-notes.com/2009/11/maximize-your-screen-and-speed-up-with-ribbon-shortcut/ Quote
