IronHorse
I oftenly create solids, and these solids I use to cut out from other solids. I use "Copy Object" to create a face around my solid, and after I use "Split" to cut my way through material. But Is there no way to make copy object associative? This square is dimmed and not possible to choose?
MarkFlayler
The associative option is used when you are doing cross part Copy Objects.
JD Mather
In other words put both parts in an assembly file and Copy Object. But I prefer to use a different method (2009 and earlier - in 2010 and later use multi-body solids and Combine-Cut). Start a new part and Derive Component the first part as Body as Work Surfaces into the second part. See the ice cube tray example in my signature.
