MyaC Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 I am working on a project started by someone else and the first time I opened the file everything seemed fine. Now when I open it there are a ton of construction lines that almost completely obscure the drawing. I can't select them to get rid of them nor can I turn them off/freeze them as I cannot find the layer they belong to. I have turned all of the layers on and thawed them all as well. I have checked the xrefs to see if there is a problem with them and found nothing. I have used redraw and regen. I have closed ACAD altogether and restarted it. I have shut down the computer and restarted everything. I have no idea what else could be the problem. If anyone has any ideas I would be grateful! Quote
rkent Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Make certain ALL layers are thawed, on, and unlocked. If you can't make it work post the drawing here or email it if you can't post, my email is osnapendp at gmail dot com Quote
rkmcswain Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Set PDMODE to 1 and regen. Any difference? Quote
RobDraw Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 Set PDMODE to 1 and regen. Any difference? I also was thinking that they might be points. Quote
Glen1980 Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 Don't forget PDsize then an appropriate size (I use 100 for a 1:50 drawing in milimetres). If it is lines I find using qselect, then selecting all entities on defpoints layer will let me select and delete lines people have put on defpoints. Blooming annoying when creating your own non-printable layers are so easy. Quote
MyaC Posted November 2, 2010 Author Posted November 2, 2010 So I made sure all of the layers were unlocked as well (dumb mistake not thinking of that in the beginning) and no difference. I also put PDMODE to 1 (it was 35 for some reason) and now I when I select the xrefs some of the lines highlight as if they are grids attached to the xref... Nevermind. I got it. Whatever halfwit drew this thing couldn't spell. The lines were a grid on layer "GRADE" for every xref. Sheesh! Thanks for your help! Quote
Liam Posted November 7, 2022 Posted November 7, 2022 I had the same issue and discovered that line was on one of my blocks. Quote
