Hi all

Not sure if this is quiet the correct place for this thread.

Just started using ArcGIS for AutoCAD 2007 [Release Build 200.0.3349.2540].

I have been succesful in importing maps from http://server.arcgisonline.com/v93/

Is it possible to set up ArcGIS to import from either google or bing maps into AutoCAD (Vanilla)?

Thanks

Jammie

Hi

I've done something similar in Autolisp on downloads of Google Earth, Yahoo Maps, Bind, etc.. Also on multiple servers elevation data and other information, via APIs.

I expose all:

That looks interesting. Will have to read it using Google translate lol.

I've used ArcGIS before although never in collaboration with a CAD program.

@SOFITO_SOFT Thanks for the link & for replying to the post. Sorry for not getting back sooner. For the moment I don't need GIS capabilities with AutoCAD but I will consider your link in the future. Thanks again

I will also try to be "quiet"...

But why are you trying to import information from Google Maps...? That stuff cant' be trusted. You really need a real survey done. Otherwise, you're opening yourself up to a world of hurt, unless all you care about is a "conceptual plan".

I also think that you should completely forget about trying to use Autocad 2007 for Civil work. Go to C3D 2012. It's got a huge learning curve, but it's worth it. And Autocad 2007 is completely inadequate for this type of work. (Although if all you care about is GIS-type fuctionality, you may also be able to get by with Map 2012.)
