alijahed Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Hi All, Just want to say the name "Design Assistant 2011" has to be changed to "Design interrupter" or something like that! I bloody spent 1 hour now to find out how can I rename a bloody file name! This piece of software is really annoying $@#%$#%$%^ Don’t tell me go and right-click on the name and change it or double click on it and change it because it doesn’t work and if you coming with another solution I have to tell you “THIS IS BLOODY STUPID”! I just want to know who wrote this bloody software… Quote
MarkFlayler Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Thats because Autodesk spends more time on the Vault product which is free by the way and has not done anything with Design Assistant for a number of years due to the significant advantages Vault gives. Also 2010 had a bug in Design Assistant so I hope you had all your Service Packs installed (I think SP1 or 2 fixed it) Quote
MarkFlayler Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Also, Standard content center parts are located in a directly that by default should not be renamed. That is why they are standard parts. If you are trying to rename the DIN part there, I could offer alot easier ways to do so. Quote

MarkFlayler Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 The very top file does not require change in the Design Assistant. This you can change without the tool. The parts which have embedded links inside the Assembly require this because it will fix the links. If you use the Copy option on the Assembly you can go to the Name field choose Edit to change the name and then edit it. But really this can be done in Windows without causing errors in the parts. When you use the "copy" option it simply copy another file so you end up with 2 files which is no good. I found another stupid thing which is you can't change the folder name!
