Tiger Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 If you mean file-types, AutoCAD uses a few yes: DWG is the main drawing format DWL is a lock-file that is usually automatically deleted when you close the file DWF/DXF are both compressed files designed for distribution (if I remember correctly) There are more file-types that AutoCAD uses, but a search on Google or Help can give you more info than I can give you. Likewise, if you work on road design you might choose to use AutoCAD Civil 3D. What types of drawings do you create? Quote

You would need: Drafting board or table. A drafting lamp. Adjustable drafting chair. Triangles (30/60 and a 45/90). Parallel arm or a drafting machine. Circle template. Architectural floor plan template. Bow compass. Dividers. Mechanical pencils with different lead thicknesses (0.3mm, 0.5mm, 0.7mm and 0.9mm). Electric eraser. Erasing shield. Drafting tape. Protractor. Architectural scale. Irregular or french curves. Lettering guide. Soft gum eraser. White pencil eraser. Dusting brush. Quote
