Steve_wright Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 What about having a Thank you Tag.. for when people reply to a thread or question. It would be a nice Tag to have Ste Quote
CADTutor Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 There are a number of ways of doing this in vBulletin - most commonly "reputation" where a grateful member can give a reputation point to another member. Over time, this builds so that everyone can identify those who have been most helpful. We've never used it here but it could be added if the community feels it would be beneficial. Quote
alanjt Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 I've never understood the point/purpose of the reputation. Quote
designerstuart Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 yes i think it's more about thanks for a particular thread, rather than member Quote
fuccaro Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 There are more ways to skin a cat. If a question receives more good answers, it could be difficult to choose who deserves the reputation point. Quote
alanjt Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 I'd rather people just say 'thank you'. Quote
ReMark Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 I'd rather people just say 'thank you'. Works a treat for me too. Well, unless those reputation "points" can be redeemed for valuable gifts or airline miles then count me in! Can I get a iPad and a trip to Tahiti? Just having some fun. Quote
fuccaro Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 I'd rather people just say 'thank you'. I second to that! Quote
Lee Mac Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 I think reputation points would only induce members 'one-upping' each other in a bid to get the best answer... Quote
Steve_wright Posted November 17, 2010 Author Posted November 17, 2010 Just stick to the normal Thank You. if someone answers a question and gives good info... then they deserve it!! .. also it may encourage them to reply more. Steve Quote
