Snapping to the point of an arrow

WHY WHY WHY WHY!?!?!

When I want to move a leader I almost always want to snap to the point of the arrow head but just moving over the top of the point does not work. You need to start hovering back towards the other side of the arrow then it miraculously grabs the point?!

This is something I, and everyone else at my workplace, doesn't know the answer to but has learnt to deal with it.

If this isnt just something I have overlooked, then please explain why I can snap to the points of the arrows in dimensions but not leaders..

Set your OSNAPS to use endpoint, and if you cannot snap to the desired point, zoom out a little bit, and place your crosshairs right behind the arrow (before the midpoint).

Hope this helps!

It may also be 'snapping' to another spot. Hit the TAB button to cycle through available snap area/options.

Leave it Autodesk to be inconsistent. Both use TRACEs as arrow geometry. The dimension arrow uses points 12 & 13 as the arrow point. Leaders uses point 11 only as the arrow point. My guess is that osnap doesn't see it properly due to the misuse of the points orientations. A TRACE has a starting width 10 to 11 and an ending width 12 to 13 along the center line axis. If they had used a 2D solid, or use the correct order, I doubt you'd be having the problem. -David

I have my osnaps set to endpoint (how could you not) and I know you can snap to the point if you zoom out and hover towards the other end of the arrow head (as I stated) but why cant you just snap to the point as you would any other point?!

I tried TABing between snap point but by the time I sat and hit TAB 10 times I could have just done the hover manouver.

I like Davids reply the best - Autodesks fault! haha.

It is interesting that if you select the leader you can snap to the end point but as soon as you enter a command and then select it you cannot (without above "tricks")

Annoying!

Well, I didn't know how many tabs it would take - tab is just a really useful way to cycle. Just move the cursor. It's a program, not magic.
