How to get pipe to follow surface profile

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys

I have created a surface with the 3D topo. And I have a radar survey drawing, but it is in 2d. Is there a way I can get the services lines to follow the surface contours? Using different cover levels? I need to create various long sections, and would be great to have these services show up on my Surface Profile sections.

Hope this makes sense :)

Convert objects to Feature lines and choose to elevate per defined surface.

Thanks for your help Alan :)

I have now converted the Polyline to a feature line. How do I 'elevate per defined surface'? Sorry, but we have just recently got Civil 3D and just getting used to it.

Sorry, it's easiest to assign it when you create the Feature Line(s).

Great, thanks Alan. Thats a great feature :) and will def be used in future!

Just spoke to the Engineer, and she pointed out the radar has depth's on the survey, so have to go by that, as its not the same cover throughout. Might have to just put them manually on the sections :(

You might can use the Raise/Lower command.
