dumfatnhappy Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 has anyone used 'Switch Back' in MEP? none of my NW(load) commands work at the command prompt. Should I reload (again) or does it just not work in MEP. got it to work with vanilla acad though. thanks Quote
frankcad Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 are you trying to load your navisworks command history list into mep? Quote
dumfatnhappy Posted November 17, 2010 Author Posted November 17, 2010 actually I'm not sure.... I'm trying to use the "switch back" command in NW. Still learning I'm afraid Quote
frankcad Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 this is copied from another forum i cant take credit It's a pretty cool product. You can really start to break down what you want to run clash reports with... I.E. cold water piping vs. steel as opposed to ALL piping versus steel. The switchback feature is kinda cool... you can open the creating program (AutoCAD, Revit, whatever) make the change(s) then switchback to Navisworks and rerun the clash report to see if you actually fixed what was clashing i was at my first 3D coordination meeting not to long ago. each model was loaded into navisworks and we detected all the clashes and discussed the solutions each trade was to make. after we made our changes they "reloaded" or i guess used the "switchback" command. i believe it just updates your dwg file in your nw file Quote
dumfatnhappy Posted November 18, 2010 Author Posted November 18, 2010 I went back and re installed the 'exporters' but still no joy Quote
Maikel_81 Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Recently I'm getting a 3D Plant Autcad course and the professor spoke of Navisworks even taught us a number of projects he has done and is a real marvel. The next week I have again the course and I will ask if you can open any file in the mep. If you have any questions, tell me to ask, ok? Greetings Quote
dumfatnhappy Posted December 3, 2010 Author Posted December 3, 2010 I found out that navisworks swichback will only recognize 2010 acad and earlier files and since I'm running 2011 MEP.... well there ya go Quote
tzframpton Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I thought I remember the Switch Back thing not working on 64bit OS's, only 32bit. I dunno though. *shrugs* Quote
