irneb Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 I've got some structural drawings from an old project (around 10 years old) as DRG (AllyCAD) files. We've just been asked to do an extension on this. The problem is the St Eng firm which did it originally has been taken over by a world-wide conglomerate. They've moved to ADesk and are not using AllyCAD anymore. We can't seem to find any converters to DWG/DXF so we can re-use these files. Anyone know how I could try to do this? AllyCAD seems to be able to save the file out to DWG/DXF, but then you need the program - and their free version is limited to 300kb file size (i.e. we can't even open the title block). Quote
ReMark Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Have you considered posting in the AllyCad Support Forum for some help on this? Perhaps you can ask if someone could open the file(s) and save them out in a format suitable for your use. I would grease the wheels so to speak by offering a small fee of sorts so everyone comes away with a smile. http://www.knowbase.co.za/forum/index.php Quote
Cad64 Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Does the free version have the "General Toolkit"? If so, you should be able to convert the files from drg to dwg without having to open them. See here: http://www.allycad.com/Knowhow/t10042/t10042.asp Quote
