Hoping someone has some insight on this. Occasionally an engineer gives a hard time giving up Autocad drawings of floor plans in order to do submittable shop drawings. Sometimes they want to charge a huge amount for right to them which is crap. Anywho when this happens I have been lucky enough to come across a PDF to DXF or PDF to DWG converter and they have worked fine. Generally it makes the drawing one big block or if it is a bad scan each line when zoomed in is made up of hundreds of little arcs but still it is something to work with. For some reason a PDF drawing I am trying to convert is giving me a blank screen or only the software's watermark with the grid on. Does anyone have any ideas here. I am at a loss of what to do. It is not a huge job but I really don't want to have to redraw the floor plan in order to draw in some ductwork. The worse part is that it is an existing building so everything will have to be field measured and the shop drawings are just a formality. Thanx in advance.

Is it possible that you have a pdf that is just a raster image, no vector data? I dunno, just wild guessing.

Good guess. I found out that it is a scan as apposed to an Autocad generated PDF. Anywho I pissed and moaned to the engineer and I'm getting the AutoCad drawings e-mailed to me.
