crocket Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Trying to alter Acad a bit. Just installed 2011 and have always had keyboard shortcuts for my osnaps. i.e. shift a (endpoint) shift c (Center) etc. Shift W was always Nearest but now each time i hit Shift W which is a lot more than i thought i get this NAVSWHEEL to pop up. Not that great with the CUI but somehow usually figure my way around it enough to get done what i need. Have been told that i can't do anything about this navwheel. I'm sure someone out there knows how to get rid of it or change it so i can get my onsap keyboard shortcut back. Thanks for any help Quote
ReMark Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Could it be that you would have to edit the shortcut key for SHIFT+W in the CUI? Quote
crocket Posted December 2, 2010 Author Posted December 2, 2010 i have already got that loaded along with the rest of them in the shortcut keys....i think that the navswheel is overriding it somehow somewhere. searched up and down the CUI looking for where i could possibly delete it out....i don't see anything anywhere for it tho Quote
ReMark Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 This is just one more instance of AutoDesk making a decision about what we want in our workspaces for us. Why don't they go solve some of the real problems and let the user decide for themselves? Quote
nestly Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 I was able to assign Shift+W to "Nearest" without problem Quote
ReMark Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Looks like I gave a wrong name. I said Shortcut when it should have been Temporary Override. My bad. Nice catch there nestly. Quote
crocket Posted December 2, 2010 Author Posted December 2, 2010 still no luck. not getting the NAVSWHEEL anymore. but still not getting the shift W to work for Nearest Onsnap. Q attached a jpg with a couple things in mind...... again not very good when it comes to the inner working of acad but wondering if i'm messing something up with my shortcut keys. on another note. i did kinda mess around and did get Shift Q to work as Nearest. so i do have it working although not the way i want. let me know if this lil explanation or this jpg helps in any way help diagnose. I feel like i / we are getting closer to the solution. seen your working in acad11 nestle wondering if since i'm in acadarchitecture11 if that has something to do with the difference or if its some bonehead thing i'm not understanding. thanks again ahead of time for any input / help Quote
