MindFreak Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Greetings, I am in need of assistance pertaining towards the utilization of this particular software in order to 'complete' an assessment task which I have been allocated. (I have fulfilled the specifications of the task manually) although I desire to understand the process involved with respect to the incorporation of the data (See below) amongst Civil 3D to generate the required outcome. Please Note: This is NOT a request for an individual/group to complete this assessment task, hence no time constraint; rather to provision a tutorial per se. I would greatly appreciate any contribution which would assist me in deriving an automated solution upon such undertakings in the future. I have attached the Assessment outline including the accompanied data sets: Quote
MindFreak Posted December 14, 2010 Author Posted December 14, 2010 I have since realized that the attached images above have been scaled and subsequently degraded in quality, I have uploaded the same images at the following links: - http://img89.imageshack.us/f/assignment0203.jpg/ - http://img84.imageshack.us/i/resultzf.jpg/ Regards, MindFreak Quote
wrmurphy81 Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Do you want to enter the known coordinates and raw data (HA,VA,SD) into Civil3D and create a traverse using example problems? Or will you be using an instrument and data collector to collect survey data? If you're using a data collector then look into FBK files (fieldbook files). Quote
MindFreak Posted December 16, 2010 Author Posted December 16, 2010 Greetings, The former of the two options that you have provisioned is the one I seek, preferably inserting raw data into AutoCAD Civil 3D in order to produce the traverse and subsequently derive an adjustment via ‘Mapcheck’ function from what I understand. Thus far I have managed to derive a solution in terms of identifying the error within the system and hence appropriating it albeit I am uncertain as to how I might be able to determine height differences. It has been suggested that I employ the point marker utility and create a surface template in order to evaluate the data. I apologize for any misconception upon my behalf, as I am enthralled with a vast array of software, to be quite honest 12d is preferential although Civil 3D is limited to the parameters of this current course. P.s. Is it possible to insert the data into an excel file and redistribute to Civil 3D? Quote
wrmurphy81 Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 I dont think you need MapCheck for what you're trying to do, yet. You need to create a Survey Database. What kind of data collection software are you using? Quote
