bigmaz Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 Hi guys Learning AutoCAD 3D, I have drawn a box with 300mm thick walls, and I want to have rectangular and square holes through the walls, how do i do this? Cheers Martin Quote
danellis Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 Create more boxes to match the holes you want to cut. Put them in the right place relative to your proper box. Subtract them from your box. dJE Quote
bigmaz Posted December 16, 2010 Author Posted December 16, 2010 Brilliant, thanks dJE Is there any way I can get grip marks to edit the cut through? Quote
ReMark Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 You can also create a rectangle sized to the opening you wish to create on the face of your wall then use the PressPull command to punch a hole through the wall. Quote

bigmaz Posted December 17, 2010 Author Posted December 17, 2010 In what way do you want to edit the cut through? Resize it? I have put the cut through on the wrong place, i just need to slide it along the face of the box Quote
ReMark Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Use the Move Faces command. Watch your picks. AutoCAD may want to work on non-related items which you can "remove" using the "R" option. You just want to move the opening not the entire wall. I suggest you also enable Orthomode and use direct distance entry to be precise. Quote
