Autocad mep 2011 Snaps not working

Okay so I'm very new to 3d and I've been making progress in leaps and bounds over the past few weeks. Now I've been thrown off completely. For some reason my snaps aren't working but yet they are turned on, and even worse I have the options for the snaps I want to use selected... There has to be something throwing this off does anyone have any idea of what's going on?

Is it all OSNAPS, or just those behind a 3D surface or face? Dynamic UCS can make it difficult to automatically select Snap points because the cursor will lock onto the face, instead of the Snap points behind it.

What I'm having an impossible time with is conduit. For some reason a week ago I was able to snap on the sides of the conduit so I could align pieces of bent conduit to my conduit lines when autocad would refuse to do the connection itself. Also I'm unable to snap on to the center of the conduit anymore yet I have the snaps set for center as well.

I'm just really confused right now as to what could have changed these settings all of a sudden(I probably fat fingered some key lol). But I do in fact have all the snaps on I want including 3d and regular osnaps. And they are also turned on. So what can be the issue here?

Could some conduits be on the Defpoints layer by any chance?

i think the objects layer to which your trying to snap to is suppose to be active, i suppose you know how to do this so make sure its active and not frozen

I don't know what you mean by defpoints layer. I do on the other hand have every set of conduit set to it's own personal layer ie security risers, electric, security, fire, etc.

The layer I'm trying to snap to is definitely turned on and not locked or frozen.

A picture of my problem.

I'm having the same problem with squares as I am with conduit where it only lets me lock on to the center yet not to the corners or sides yet I have the snaps turned on and enabled.

Here is a screenshot of the problem. I just noticed if I open a new cad file and draw conduit the snaps all work fine. So it has to be something with the file itself.

The Defpoints layer is created automatically when dimensions are added to a drawing. Objects on the layer do not print and are sometimes difficult to impossible to select.

For now I copy pasted the file over to a new drawing and after aligning things correctly I'm back to where I was with everything working properly again.

But if anyone can help me find a solution for the future as to why this happened. That would be great ty. If anyone needs any more information please feel free to ask.

There is definitely a defpoints layer that is on the drawing.

I tried turning it off and freezing it yet the problem kept happening still.

(btw thanks for all the help ReMark I really appreciate it)
