smak786110 Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Can you please recommend me WHICH software is the best for the following usage:- - A Windows/Doors fabricator who wants to show clients how the products will look at their Homes/Office . - An interior designer, who is specialized in Wood Flooring,Painting and BLINDS can show client how it will look. Was recommended REVIT ARCHITECTURE... What do you suggest ? Quote
f700es Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Revit!!! Lord no! Way over kill. Honestly with the rumor that AutoDesk is going to give Inventor Fusion away with AutoCAD subscriptions I would look at that. The Inventor Fusion for the fabricator to design their product and AutoCAD for the designer to do their layouts. Current versions of AutoCAD included the same rendering engine as 3DMax so the designer can draft, model and render their projects. http://resources.autodesk.com/files/autocad/docs/AutoCAD_2011_Preview_Guide_Final.pdf The good news is that Inventor Fusion is still free until June 1st, 2011. So why not download it and give it a try? http://labs.autodesk.com/technologies/fusion/ Fusion and AutoCAD will work together so data can be shared. Take a look and good luck on the decision Quote
smak786110 Posted December 23, 2010 Author Posted December 23, 2010 Thanks for ur response and in-depth reply ! I wanted to ask, whether I would be able to show my specifi type of WINDOW or DOOR or a BATH CUBIC or a WOOD Floor properly in Autocad 2011 ? OR should I got for 3d max ? I hope you understood me what exactly what I am looking for ! I want to show my clients how my products will look at their home.. all the in-detail sizes is not important... The important I get a good image of my products and interior in order to show my client.... Quote

f700es Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Well AutoCAD has the same basic rendering engine as Max so you should be able to. Now in saying that I will add that this is not easy. It takes time to learn how to do this, either in CAD or Max. I have seen some kick-butt renders from AutoCAD so it can be done. I will say that rendering in AutoCAD has never been easier or as good looking as it is now. You can download a 30 demo of AutoCAD to give it a try. The new solid and surface modeling tools in AutoCAD should make it easier to model your designs as well. Quote
