PJOSS Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 How do you xref a drawing with a title border so that this border appears in the layout/paper space of the parent drawing? Quote
Dipali Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Go To The Paper Space & Then Use Xref Command. Quote
PJOSS Posted September 23, 2008 Author Posted September 23, 2008 Many tnanks for your reply. However all I get is model space objects in my parent paper space. Quote
nocturne00 Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 you mean you want to xref a file with objects both in MS and PS? Quote
Dipali Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Paperspace Objects Can Not Be Imported To The Drawings Thru Xref As Far As I Know (correct Me Someone If I Am Wrong). What We Normally Do Is We Have A Title Block Drawing In Model Space At 1:1. And Save That Drawing. Than We Open The Drawing We Are Working On Go To Paper Tab & Use 'xref' To Bring In The Titleblock Here In Papersapce. Quote
PJOSS Posted September 24, 2008 Author Posted September 24, 2008 No that's not it. My theory is that the ability to Xref attach a drawing, so that it's Paper space layout appears in the paper space layout of the parent drawing, is not possible in Autocad LT. I'm being told from other sources that this does work and I suspect that they are either using the full version of Autocad or more likley one of Autodesks "vertical" solution software packages such as Architectural version. I would appreciate help from you or anyone who can confirm this. Many thanks. Quote
Cad64 Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Paper Space objects cannot be xref'd. Only Model Space objects can be xref'd. If you need the Paper Space layouts, you can drag and drop them from Design Center. Quote
Dipali Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 thanks CAD 64 for confirming that. Because OP had me all confused. Quote
PJOSS Posted September 24, 2008 Author Posted September 24, 2008 Many thanks to you all. I have only just joined your CAD forum and I am suitably impressed. Quote
