Hi to all and a Happy New Year. Being new at 3d, I have a very small question. If I have a solid 3d object, how do i get the volume of this object?

Thanks....

After running MASSPROP it gives me numbers for mass and volume... But no units... What are those units? I cant seem to find anything that tells me

Thanks

Example :

Lists the mass and volume of a fitting cap at 125

Is that cubic inches, cubic centimeters, cubic milliliters, etc...

Or am I just not thinking about this correctly?

Depends on your template units.

Assuming you started from correct template (inch or metric) you should be able to figure out the units based on a quick hand calculation of the expected bounding box.

Modern programs like Autodesk Inventor give you the units.

If you can't figure it out - attach the dwg file here and I'll check in Inventor.

Use -dwgunits (include the hyphen) at the commandline, then hit F2 to open your text window.

The numeric response you get at the commandline like which means mms,

will identify the database drawing unit, upon which all distance, area and volumetric

measurement feedback will be based.

this drawing is in mms.JPG
