how to copy my layers to another drawing

hey guys i got a drawing here with alot of layers and i want to transfer it to another drawing. is there anyother way to do it.

Use design center, if the drawing with the layers is open the pick on the open drawings tab, pick layers, select them and drag to the other drawing. If it is not open then navigate to it and proceed as above.

You can also "INSERT" the drawing with all your layers into the new drawing as a block. This will add all your layers, dimstyles, textstyles, blocks, etc to the new drawing, even if you "CANCEL" the INSERT operation when it prompts you for an insertion point.

ooo the insert is good, since i have to use the same 7 layers for my project. thanks. both ways works prefectly

Once you have all the layers and stuff you want in a blank drawing, you can do a "saveas" and change the file extension to dwt, give it a name you will remember, then set it as your default template. After that, you can use it everytime you start a new drawing.

or another way --

every entity you copy and paste into a drawing brings with it its original layer. so copy something on each layer you want, and paste it into your new dwg. i have a block wifh my favourite layers in so i can insert them easily.
