qball Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 is it possible to just do a flatshot of specific 3d objects or areas? Rather than all the objects on the drawing. Quote
ReMark Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 (edited) No it isn't but you can use the SectionPlane command to create a 2D block of a 3D object. Sorry about my first answer. I was thinking of something I just worked on. Unfortunately I forgot there was only one 3D object in the entire drawing. Edited January 5, 2011 by ReMark Quote

ReMark Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Try thishttp://www.theswamp.org/index.php?topic=33105.0 Way cool! Have you actually used it? Does it work as advertised? Thanks for sharing that link. Quote
paulmcz Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Yes, it does work. You select the area and it creates a flatshot of selected items. Very nice! Quote
43st Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 SOLPROF would be the command to use for a single object. Or isolate the single object to it's own layer and use FLATSHOT (can be a pain in the butt depending on your drawing complexity). Quote
qball Posted January 7, 2011 Author Posted January 7, 2011 solprof says it needs a layout. But 43st just reminded me that in A2011 you can isolate objects, then flatshot from modelspace and it works. You don't need to change to its own layer. Quote
43st Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 I never thought that it would acknowledge an isolated object.. that's pretty awesome. Maybe someday AutoCad will allow you to properly use visual styles to do layouts with linetypes. Quote
