richie_008 Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 I'm trying to reload an xref, but it says unreferenced file. Maybe it is in another drawing perhaps, but how could I get the unreferenced file back on there to show up? Quote
ReMark Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 I don't use Xrefs but wouldn't you have to attach the drawing file? AutoCAD Help has this to say about the subject: You can use several methods to attach an xref: Click View tab, Palettes panel, External References Palette. At the Command prompt, enter externalreferences At the Command prompt, enter xattach. You can also use DesignCenter™ to attach xrefs to a drawing. Quote
bonehead411 Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 It sounds like a problem with the xref path. Save your drawing into the same folder as the xref. and see if that helps. Or you could copy the xref file into the same folder as your drawing. Although making a copy would kinda defeat the purpose of having an xref. Quote
ccowgill Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 it sounds to me like someone clicked on the xref, then deleted it, without detaching it from the drawing. You may have to detach it, then go out and find it and reattach it. or as above, the path could just be messed up. Quote
designerstuart Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 yes, as above. just make sure you have the referenced drawing with exactly the same name and filepath as shown in the xref manager. you can do this either by putting it in the right place (explorer) and ensuring the name is correct, or by re-pathing it in xref manager to the new file name / location. should be simple!
