HP DesignJet 450C (C4715A) + Windows XP + AutoCAD 2007 = not possible, any other way?

Hi All

I am trying to setup a HP Designjet 450c to work on my Windows XP laptop using Autocad 2007. I know it says that drivers are only available from HP website for Autocad 2005.

Also when adding printer on laptop, the printer model is not displayed in the list?

Is there any way to get this printer to work?

Looking for your help, thanks in advance, hope you can help me

Regards

We run a HP DesignJet 500+. I wasn't aware that drivers were AutoCAD specific. I know that for sure the ones we use are OS specific though.

What method did you use to install the printer on your laptop?

What kind of connection are you using between the two? USB? Other?

I have yet to come across software specif printer drivers... Most printers are UPnP nowadays anyway...

Hi ReMark, I am using a USB cable

The problem may lie in whatever method you are using to adapt from usb to the parallel or serial port on the printer. Some usb to parallel adaptors work better than others, and I have run across a few that wouldn't work at all. Make sure you match up the ports...it should say USB001 or USB virtual printer or something like that. If you are trying to print to an LPT port it won't work.

If everything is installed correctly you should be able to go to any software on your laptop and print to the HP try say Word or go to control panel printers and faxes and print a test page if nothing then your usb link is not working.

I use a f300 series no probs
