Jaap Marchal Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 Hello, I have an block with attributes nested in a other block also with attributes. The nested block has attributes with default value --- . this value is value is visable. When i edit the nested block in blockeditor and delete the attributes, it is still visable. How can i update that block? Thanks, Jaap Quote
irneb Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Use either AttSync or BAttMan ... each insertion of the block has attached attribute entities, which don't update automatically from the block's definition. That's why these 2 commands are there. Just be careful, since they will screw up mirrored blocks, and revert any manual attrib property changes to the defaults as per the definition. But worst of all, if you've renamed attributes, you'll loose the text in the existing insertions - if you need to rename, then do so through the BAttMan command rather than in BEdit / Redefine. Quote
Jaap Marchal Posted January 10, 2011 Author Posted January 10, 2011 Yes i know the problems with BATTMAN and sync thats why i swiched to dynamic blocks......super. Even when i open that nested block in blockeditor, the attributes are gone but in the main block is it still there. Only when i delete the nested block and place a modifided one back,..............it works. Or has it something to do with dynamic blocks (no visabilty states) Jaap Quote
irneb Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 I seem to be losing you. Do you mean the attribs don't updated on the insertion inside the other block? Even if syncing? Could you post a sample of this? Quote
Jaap Marchal Posted January 11, 2011 Author Posted January 11, 2011 BMELDER (smokedetector), nested block=BIS. In the nested block BIS are the attributes gone open in blockeditor, but in the main block BMELDER the attribute is still there. In Battman i can only select BMELDER, so BIS has no attributes but is shown??????????BMELDER.dwg Quote
irneb Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Apparently BAttMan doesn't read nested instances. What I did to fix the block (BMELDER.dwg) was to open the BMELDER in BEdit and then run AttSync on the BIS block. Methinks it's time for ADesk to update those 2 commands ... for other reasons as well. Quote
