Andre Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 I need to submit my 3d assessments and im pretty sure they need me to have a standard sheet with border and title box in the corner, how exactly do i go about adding this to a completed 3d drawing ? Thanks Andy Quote
Andre Posted January 10, 2011 Author Posted January 10, 2011 im really sorry but can you tell me step by step if possible Quote
nestly Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Many of the standard AutoCAD templates contain titleblocks. Browse through them until you find one you like at the right paper size and then open the template and copy/paste the titleblock into your drawing. If you're working in Modelspace, you'll likely have to scale the titleblock, but if you're working on a PaperSpace layout tab just paste it in Paperspace. Here's a quick demo of the AutoCAD templates. Quote
Andre Posted January 10, 2011 Author Posted January 10, 2011 open 3d drawing click from model space to paper space insert block (I have created a border and title box in 2d) it then places my title block over the 3d drawing but i cant seem to get it to match the corners of the 3d drawing ? Quote
ReMark Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Are you trying to get the corners of your titleblock and border to match up with those represented by the dashed lines you see in your layout? Quote
Andre Posted January 11, 2011 Author Posted January 11, 2011 yes that about right, is there an easier way of inserting a title block onto a 3d drawing if so could you put it in extreme laymen terms. Andy Quote
ReMark Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Separate the 3D drawing, done in model space, from the Layout (which gives you access to paper space) where you want to put your titleblock and border. You are not inserting the TB&B into the 3D drawing. The dashed lines you see are the limits of the printable area. Anything beyond those lines will not show up when the drawing is printed. I keep my TB&B just inside the lines so I am confident it will plot. I have seen instances where borders that are on the dashed lines won't plot. Quote
