Marc5 Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I have a couple of hundred single character texts that I need to change the height to. The text was inserted non-annotative. The MText manager under design says the text is 6" in height and that is what I need. However, when I double click on the text the Text Formatting box opens and when the text is highlighted it shows the text being 4.5" in height. Is there a way to globally update (correct) the text height and have the text remain in their current location? Also, why is there a difference in the text height between the Mtext box and the Text Formatting box? I have attached a portion of the floor plan in case it may help. Thanks, Marc TEXT HEIGHT.dwg Quote
ReMark Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Everything I tried says the height of the text is 6. Open the other eye. LOL Quote
ReMark Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Assuming you wanted to globally change the height of all the text that appears on layer A_NOTES 3_16 I would use the QSELECT command. Specify the Object Type = MText. Specify the Properties = Layer. Specify Operator = Equals. And specify the Value = A_Notes 3_16. This will select all the text. Then go ahead and change the text height. I did this using my Quick Properties dialog box and it worked. Quote
Marc5 Posted January 13, 2011 Author Posted January 13, 2011 LOL.....I tried the other eye......no good still 4.5" and 6" The QSELECT worked great. THANKS. Can I globally increase the size of the poly line box around the text? Quote
ReMark Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 You could if it were a block. Unfortunately you have 68 similar objects that are not blocks. Maybe someone knows of a lisp routine that could do it. Quote
Marc5 Posted January 13, 2011 Author Posted January 13, 2011 Yea, that is what I was afraid of. I think I will use EXPRESS TOOLS - ENCLOSE IN OBJECT. Next time I will be sure it is a block. Thanks Quote
designerstuart Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 lee mac has one here (lisp to set polyline widths) ps. thanks lee for sharing these on another post! Quote
ReMark Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I believe the OP would like to increase the physical size of the box that surrounds the text and not the lineweight. At least that is how I perceive it. Quote
Marc5 Posted January 13, 2011 Author Posted January 13, 2011 That is correct. Need to make the box bigger, not the line weight thicker. Thanks. Quote
designerstuart Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 oops. sorry for the useless post. (Damn! another one.) Quote
SLW210 Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Try using Qselect, then Express>Text>Enclose Text with Object. Delete the old boxes with Qselect>Polyline>Layer>A-NOTES 3_16 Quote
designerstuart Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 try using qselect, then express>text>enclose text with object. excellent! Quote
