johnseg11 Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Our company is currently using 2004 Land Desktop and switching over to 2011 Civil 3d. When we send CAD drawings to other companies to use, we always remove points from drawing in Landesk and contour lines on surfaces are not affected. In Civil 3d, if we remove points before sending our drawings out, the contour lines disappear when rebuilding the surface. Any way of removing the points yet keeping the contour lines? Quote
CyberAngel Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Welcome to the forum! I use Civil 2008. You may have an option more advanced than this one. If you go to the Surfaces menu, then Utilities, there is an option to Extract Objects from Surface. Set the surface style to show the contours you want to send to your clients. Run the Extract Objects from Surface command. It will give you a list of things you can import from the surface into the drawing. Select major/minor contours and anything else you want, and unselect the rest. Hit OK. That will put the contours in your drawing as independent entities, so you can delete the points (and the surface) without losing the contours. I believe a simple Export will do the same thing. Be sure to delete the points after the export and not before. Quote
