amounjid Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Hi there, I work for a engineer firm as a drafter in mecanique (hvac). and some times i have to make some drawings in 3d, so i need some block in 3d like elbows , fittings.... where can i get a free bibliotheque for those thanks Quote
rustysilo Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 I'm sure you can find 3d blocks of these fittings and parts if you search the net. Otherwise you can create them yourself if you have the knowhow. Quote
ReMark Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Imperial or metric? You can also purchase ready made 3D pipe fittings from CADToolsOnline. Quote
ReMark Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Here's another source for purchasing 3D AutoCAD pipe fittings: http://www.herculedesign.com/ Quote
jaylo23 Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 I do alot of hvac systems and have an catologue that i requested at www.mcgillairflow.com. They are very well known and you can trust the info. Ive done alot of work with them so they gave me a copy, but if you go to their website they have alot of cut sheets with dimensions and you can model them off of that. I just keep an library on my network where i work of all the blocks ive had to use and add them to the library as i create new ones. I really dont like using generic fittings as they may not be up to standards and codes and can really mess a project up so that is why i modeled my fittings based off of cut sheets from a company that is well known in the industry. Hope this helps. Quote
rustysilo Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Sometimes you can even get autocad dwgs straight from the manufacturer. 3D blocks are hit and miss though. Quote
tzframpton Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Might wanna consider upgrading to a 3D Cad Package, such as AutoCAD MEP or even a 3rd party like CAD-Duct. Quote
