fahim108 Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 Post a screen-shot. Probably your render settings are wrong. Quote
Raudel Solis Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 when dealing with lights and sun final gather should always be used if sun is active global illumination should be active as well and yes, also post a screenshot Quote
ulrikov Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Yes, I have this problem also... This is the screenshot. Quote
saraedith Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Try adding some actual lights in the shadow areas -- turned down -- to add light ambience, possibly lighten up the area a bit. Quote
iskalipsi Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Ulrikov have you tried what Raudel Solis suggested? Quote
ulrikov Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 when dealing with lights and sunfinal gather should always be used if sun is active global illumination should be active as well and yes, also post a screenshot What do you mean by final gather, Sir? How do you do that? I've tried using the sky background and illumination... it did the job (shadows now pretty much controlled). Now, my problem is...how do I change the background of my presentation (it's stuck in the sky background)? I want to change it to another background. How do I do that, gentlemen? Quote
iskalipsi Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 type RPREF. then from there see ataachment for you reference to turn on global illumination and final gather. hope this helps Quote
Raudel Solis Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 use the background command autocad 2005+ Quote
ulrikov Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Thanks all for the help, guys. You really helped me a lot. In due time, I can also help others as what you have done for me. This is my semi-finished work. Quote
saraedith Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 I also turned on sun and sky illumination -- which lights everything nicely -- without harsh shadowing. However, I can not get my walls and floors to accept any shadows. I have turned on "accept shadows" in each respective properties box. Any suggestions? Thanks! Quote
Raudel Solis Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 if your working with layers check if there something ominous about them in the layer properties manager post a picture of your advanced render settings Quote
saraedith Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Thanks for replying - I checked the layers properties and didn't see anything strange, or anything really related to rendering (save the plotter was turned off). How do I post a picture of the render properties window? Quote
Raudel Solis Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 wow, well im not sure if this will fix it i think this only applys to the viewport but use command VSSHADOWS AND SET VALUE to 2 this will set full shadows on then again it might only apply to the viewport and not the actual render 2nd tip : use command SHADOWPLANELOCATION AND see if its elevation is adequate, shadow plane is a virtual plane that .... allows ground shadows to be displayed 3rd tip: Is Default lighting on or off it should be off if you have created your own lights You can turn it off with the DEFAULTLIGHTING command and set the variable to 0 4TH TIP IS SHADOW MAP ON? you can go to advaced render settings and find it to post a picture in windows vista and windows 7 i think snipping tool is available in the start menu for any other windows operating system you can use FRAPS 3rd party software http://www.fraps.com Quote
saraedith Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 I've cut and pasted this to another document to refer to and to each try. Thank you Raudel! Will let you know . . . Quote
Kobbe Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Rendering with a higher quality usualy makes the shadow look better (less dark) Quote
