make outside a polyline then just "list" it, area and length given

The chevrons if drawn as plines 0.2 wide you can get a total of all of them in one go then multiply total length by 0.2 for area, search here not sure maybe "total" lisps that add up objects for you.

our chevrons match the edge lines 100mm wide and are in autocad terms are cut parrallel to edge line 100mm offset so we use hatch solid, again you can add all these up with a lisp.

I will see if I can find a chevron hatch lisp it would be good for us also. Any one out there ?

Searched "Total" gave lots to pick from maybe http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?41972-Lisp-to-add-amp-total-every-line-pline-on-a-layer&highlight=total
