pharrold Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Hi, Is the a way in LT to cross reference a connection that is on another layer in the same drawing. I know Eplan and AutoCAD Electrical can do this, but i only have LT. thanks Quote
ReMark Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 What are you attempting to do when you say "cross-reference"? There is a reason why it is referred to as AutoCAD LT. It can't be all things to all users. If you are doing an electrical schematic why aren't you using one of the two pieces of software that you mention? Maybe it could be done using an attribute or a field? Quote
pharrold Posted January 26, 2011 Author Posted January 26, 2011 It is an electrical schematic yes. I am not using the other software because i do not have it. I use an attribute (XREF), but don't know how to hyperlink(in a way) to the layer it is pointing to. Quote
ReMark Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 I've used hyperlinks between an AutoCAD drawing and an Excel spreadsheet or a PDF but I have never tried to do it within a drawing itself. I'm not sure that is possible. Maybe between drawings. Quote
pharrold Posted January 26, 2011 Author Posted January 26, 2011 I think it is possible between two different drawings but not in the same drawing to another layer. would've been very useful. If there was a way to say get the variable, XREF, i could then use part of a script i already have. something like useri1=(getvar, attribute(XREF)) Quote
