Kat Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Hi All, I was wondering if there was an easy way to create a specific size of a pdf. For example, I need to create some pdfs for a website that are 900 X 695 (pixel ratio) which ends up being around 3" X 2.32" with a 300 DPI. I am updating some floorplans on a website with a non-user friendly program and if I can just update the specific pdfs with the same size updates, it should go much more smoothly. I hope this makes sense! Kat Quote
SLW210 Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Why are you doing it in PDF? I would use printscreen and paste into my favorite pic editor. If you need PDF try setting some custom paper sizes. Quote
Kat Posted February 2, 2011 Author Posted February 2, 2011 I am printing to a a pdf because I think it will give me a higher quality resolution. I have tried some custom paper sizes, but they don't work very well. Any other ideas? Thanks! Quote
CyberAngel Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Can't you plot to JPG or PNG? Wouldn't that save a step? Quote
Kat Posted February 8, 2011 Author Posted February 8, 2011 Sorry for my delay in response! I looked into the JPG and PNG option. (Never used those options before!) They didn't have custom sizes as far as I can see. I think I will just have to pick a larger size, make a jpg and then resize it in an editor. Thanks for your input! Quote
SLW210 Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Under Shaded viewports option, select As displayed> Custom>Select DPI Quote
Kat Posted February 11, 2011 Author Posted February 11, 2011 Hi All again, Thanks for the replies! I used a couple suggestions I found here for my problem. Turns out the website that I am uploading these floorplans to prefers *.jpgs, so I used the Publish to Web JPG and set it at a very high pixel resolution so I could resize it later. I had never used the jpg creator before, seeing as how most applications need pdfs or dwg files. I then used a picture editor to crop and resize to the right dimensions for the website. The resolution is very nice and crisp with *.jpgs so I think this will come in handy later. Kat Quote
