hotrodz0321 Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 I dont see too many people posting images of 3d work they've done in Civil 3d but i have found some on the internet. Have any c3d users rendered any images in c3d? Im too cheap to buy 3d studio max or anything like that. Im just wondering what Civil 3d is capable of. Quote
rustysilo Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 It is only equipped with the basic 3D rendering engine available with regular AutoCAD. You can see some basic renderings I've done on my flickr page (browse through it to see all). Nothing fancy. No materials applied. I haven't gone any further than that really. Quote

Cad64 Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 I thought Civl 3D, 2007 and up, shipped with Mental Ray? No? Quote
rustysilo Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Nope. I wonder if you could throw your C3D model into an open source program like Blender and get a good render out of it? Quote
