Hi,

sometimes i copy the hatch from one drawing and paste it in order to compare. i noticed that the snap cant see hatch, meaning that i have to outline the hatch. is there automate way to outline hatch with a line?

Thanks

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking, so it's hard to give advice. If your hatch is associative (usually a good idea), you can select the border along with the hatch. Go to the Options window, Selection tab, and check Associative Hatch under Selection Modes. Setting PICKSTYLE to 2 does the same thing.

If you want to snap to a hatch, go to the Option window, Drafting tab this time, and uncheck Ignore Hatch Objects. Or set OSOPTIONS to 0.

If you want to add a boundary to the hatch, right-click on it and select Generate Boundary, which will give you a polygon. If you do this often and you want to type in the command, you'll probably want an alias for HATCHGENERATEBOUNDARY.

If I haven't answered your question properly, please state it in a different way and with more detail.

Your profile says AutoCAD 2010.

I am rusty on 2006. What options do you get when you right click? Instead of copy, why not xref the hatch.
