I'm trying to set up key notes on a rather busy floor plan using paper space. Some irrelevant parts of the structure are creeping into the area behind my key notes. Is there a way I can set a viewport to hide the objects behind it?

I've tried setting the viewport to "hidden" and while it hides the objects behind it, the text in the view port becomes heavily pixelated when plotting or .pdfing the drawing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

In a word: No.

I may be misreading, but it sounds like you need to VPCLIP your viewport.

You might try freezing the layers in the viewport or using a wipeout with the text. Maybe you could post a pic to help us, help you.

Not sure if this helps but your view ports can be a polygon shape so you can cut a bit out for the notes MV P

There is a way, but it's a bit cumbersome. I just make a new background with the areas in question removed. I place smaller viewports over larger viewports all the time, and sometimes it's efficacious that I make an amended background specifically for that ONE drawing because there is simply not enough space in the drawing to move stuff around. Really, if it's for an inhouse project - what's the big deal with having a few backgrounds of the same layout for different purposes?
