Erikve
Dear all, I'm busy with something rather basic, but I'm new in Autocad. I want to make a mask for photolithography with lots of figures that have lots of similarities. Therefore i would like to make one pattern and change afterwards some lengths etc. and that everything keeps in the same format. I found the wionderfull option of constraints. However my polylines consist of different point and if I try to fix a length only one particular point moves. Is there an option that I can give the closed polyline one particular point that the whole structure just moves without changing in shape? I use Autocad 2010. Thank you very much!! qball
Would the Lock button help (called "Fix")? maybe attach the file if that didn't solve the issue.
Erikve
No, this doesn't help. To make clear: I only want to bring different segments to one group and that I have one specific point that I can use to drag the whole structure. ReMark
It almost sounds like you want to drag this closed polyline by a baspoint (kind of like a block).

Erikve
Of course a bit looking around was enough, i got it! Thank you very much for your help.

Erikve
group in fact doesnt work, because the points on the polyline can be moves seperately.

I stand corrected, I did not understand your problem when I read through it the first time.

What did I do to help? It's a mystery to me.
Erikve
While I'm here I have another interesting question. I make this mask and vary over a lot of figures one variable a lot of times. It would be nice if I can specify this variable in the right corner and can display it so directly on the mask and can change it this way fast. With other words, can I make a value far away from the constraint that specifies this value.

You said "It almost sounds like you want to drag this closed polyline by a baspoint (kind of like a block).". I found the block function and the basepoint option and that was the solution!
