Two semi novice questions.

Been watching & reading tutorials the last two days, and have been making good progress considering i had zero CAD experience but i think i've messed something up becuase every time i start a new part (standard.ipt) the view is top side, and i have to manually change the current pane to front on the view cube, shouldnt it be front as default?

2'nd issue is when trying to use the Hole tool, and i've marked center's in the sketch and return to use the hole-tool, i can't see or execute holes on the marks, how do i make them visible? i can't slice it with F7 for some reason

Try going to Tools tab, Application Options, Part tab, upper left "Sketch on new part creation. Maybe you want x-z plane checked.

With the hole tool you normally don't need a sketch and its probably better without it. Pick edges and add dims for the displacement from each edge.

1. you can set initial sketch plane to whatever you want Tools>Application Options

2. You can only slice graphics (F7) while in sketch mode.

Doesn't make sense that you can't see your sketch center points for holes - can't you rotate the model

or

while in sketch F7 and hit H on the keyboard to start hole command while in Slice Graphics.

zip and attach your file here.

Already set to sketch on XY pane on new part, but the viewcube still starts out with the top view everytime :) is that suppose to happen?

but since there is a slight language issue here, i will show you what's wrong instead of trying to explain it, and if I am really lucky, i might kill two birds with one stone here.

It's already set to X-Y pane, just annoying it starts with top view everytime, and there's no grid on X-Z pane, look at the screenshots.
