Constraint Headache!

This isnt really a question but rather a rant and i wasnt sure where to post it.

 

I have been working on a complex mechanical assembly for the past couple days and these constraints are killing me:) I am designing a machine that will be used to bend sheet metal around a certain radius. This machine needs to operate at a minimum of 2500 times(thats how many i need and very repeatable). This design has a total of 6 air cylinders, 4 of which are 2.5" diameter bore and 2 are 2" bore. Multiple linkages, bell cranks, bearings, etc and if your off just a little bit inventor says NO.

 

It doesnt help that every time i try and render an animation my computer closes inventor with no warning. Ill try to post a screen shot tomorrow if i dont kill my computer:)

haha, everytime i go by the chat forum its empty, must be bad timing and all.

 

I got the thing animated just fine and i get the timeline to play just fine from current viewport and my cameras. when i add materials and lights im fine, but when i render scene or render one of my animated camera views it just disapears:) My IT guys messed with my computer yesterday and i didnt have this problem before i swear because i have done this before.

 

Im working with inventor 10pro and I told my IT that i want acad 09 and the most current inventor pro. So they come over and try to put 11 on my comp and un-install 10. I told them no and now my inventor is being crazy:)

 

Im not sure if this is considered large or not but i think i have on the magnitude of 100 pin constraints with rotation and each joint. Or at least thats what im up to at this point. Its not even done yet.

 

 

 

ps, all my constraint issues are because i have left things out like washers and i have not fully modeled my spherical rod end bearings which have caused me alignment issues. My file was just getting complicated because the piece i am bending is only 4" wide so i have to fit a lot in a little space.

so you have two versions of inventor installed?

 

There's usually a bunch of users who seem to check out the chat section before any where else when they log on, but as most of them are probably European, that may be why chat looks so quiet when you're about

I have my desktop at work which im running inventor pro 10. We also have a dedicated cad computer that students use and that i use for CAM when creating NC programs. It has 11 on it. They tried to upgrade me to 11 but it has trouble on the other computer so i said not to for now.

 

 

inventor locked up on my about 20 times today but at least i have all the constraints good.
