BillB Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 Hello, There's probably a VERY simple answer to this,, but I have not yet figured it out yet. Here's my problem: I modeled two different parts to make a rough out assembly, basically a tube and plate welded assembly. Now I want to do some finish machining on the assembly. I started a sketch in the assembly, placed my constrained geometry on a Workplane and attempted to do revolve cut, but all I get is the warning dialog that says “ No visible, unadaptive sketches “. O.k., so any input on what I might be doing wrong? Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks BillB Quote
BillB Posted February 15, 2011 Author Posted February 15, 2011 Oh, and I better mention that I don't want the machined sketch geometry on the assembly to reflect back to the part (.ipt) of the plate,,,, if this makes since Quote
JD Mather Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 Your sketch must be at the assembly level to do an assembly level cut. Can you attach the assembly here. Quote
BillB Posted February 15, 2011 Author Posted February 15, 2011 I will give it a try J.D.,,, have not tried to attach parts or assemblies before,, sorry for my ignorance. May take until tomorrow morning, about quitting time. BillB P.S. yes,,, it is at the Assembly Level, if this helps Quote
BillB Posted February 15, 2011 Author Posted February 15, 2011 Ahh,,, doggone it,,, your reply was stating that I "needed" to be at Assemble Level, not sure exactly what you mean. BillB Quote
BillB Posted February 16, 2011 Author Posted February 16, 2011 Well,,, here's something odd,,, it worked fine this morning. Did the same sketch at Assembly Level as I did yesterday and now it works, which is good. Maybe I missed something yesterday. I appreciate your help on this J.D., have a great day. BillB Quote
