Hello,

Could you please tell me whether it is possible to make the editable pdf file from AutoCAD Drawing?

If it is possible, then plz tell me the procedure... I am using ACAD 2008 version and Acrobat 9 standard.

Best Regards,

ISn't the whole point of a PDF that it's NOT suppose to be editable? :?

yes, why PDF it if you want it editable? one or the other, which do you want?

Actually I want my final pdf (contents of that drawing) file searchable and that is only possible when my pdf file is editable. I don't want to us the OCR technology for this method. OCR technology, some time is not reliable...

So, that's why I want directly editable pdf file from ACAD.

i'm sorry, i don't understand. maybe someone who does will be along shortly - what is it that you want to edit in your pdf? you want more than just searchable / readable text?

I don't know if Autocad will create the kind of file you want on it's own, but there is a third party add-on that claims to be able to do so from within AutoCAD. You can find it here: http://www.bluebeam.com/web07/us/downloads/cad/?src=1155 I don't know anything about how well it works, and I've never used it myself. Comes with a 30-day free trial. The ad says it will work with Autocad, Revit, Solidworks and MS Office, and allows you to create and edit PDF files from within all of these applications.

Thanks Jack_O'neill. I will try this software...

Well a PDF from AutoCAD will be a vector PDF so in that regard it will be editable. Which from me means that I can open the PDF in something like Illustrator and edit line work. I am not sure if what font you use will make/help it become a search able text item.

That Bluebeam software I posted the link to says that it will allow you to add or edit text, change the fonts and the font color and copy and paste text from the PDF file. I didn't know you could do all this stuff with PDFs till about a month ago. It used to be a simple file that anybody could read on about any computer. Now you can have animations, 3d objects, color, all sorts of stuff. Time marches on I guess.
